Krishna's skin color is blue or black ? Krishna means black, but why is he shown blue in pictures or images ?

The color of Lord Krishna's skin is blue or black. It is the eternal confusion of human beings.

          The Vishnu Stotra says,

          शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभं सुरेशं

          विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम् ।

Translation - Always calm is his form, who sleeps in the bed of the Sheshnag, from whose navel the lotus originates, who is the lord of all gods, he is the base of the whole world, eternal like the sky and his color equal to the clouds

According to the Puranas, the color of Lord Vishnu's body is "equal to the rain cloud, that is, slightly black, slightly blue".

Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Krishna with his complete art. So the color of the body of Lord Krishna and the color of the body of Lord Vishnu are the same.

Krishna means 'black', and Krishna means 'eternal'. This universe is endless and dark. And Lord Krishna is the form of the eternal universe, so He looks black, but in reality He has no color.

There is a reason behind his blue color. The sky we see from Earth is actually the Infinite Universe, which, though black, shows the causality of the Earth's atmosphere. Lord Krishna is shown in blue to convey this philosophy. Because man never gets to see his real form. Maya is subdued and abandons her sincere qualities and condemns her actions, but she never wants to understand the secret of her pastime.
